Rock paintings
by Pennsylvania artist Barb Gable
In honor of the fallen citizens of the United States on September 11, 2001, many of us in the rock painting clubs on the Internet painted tributes...this one is called "Spirit of America"
One of the first images I saw was this one, some have called it "Crying Eagle"...it shows the World Trade Center after the attack, with the sorrowful eagle above...I call my version "God Bless America"
I love those big birds!  This rock measures about 11" long, and is of a Common Loon...he makes a great doorstop!
My daughter, like many young girls, was a horse-nut--we now have 4 in the pasture!  Before she joined 4H, though, she had a collection of unicorns and horses, but none painted on a rock!  So here it is, my rock unicorn.
One of my first commissioned pet portraits, this one is of a beagle puppy.  The portrait was done from a series of photos, supplied by the pet owner, and it turned out really well.  Pricing for pet portraits such as this one start at $35.00 US currency.
The owner of these two pets wanted them pictured together on the rock, even though he hadn`t any existing pictures like that...The chocolate lab and the calico cat came as two separate photos, and through artistic license, they became best buddies on the rock!

The current rage for water gardens had inspired this fieldstone painting of a koi pond--the answer to HOW to have a pond in your yard without the expense of installation or the maintenance of the fish!  As you can see, this photo was taken on my DECK, with surrounding river stones and other rock foliage paintings.  15" across, irregular rock.
"The Lion and the Lamb", painted as a Christmas rock challenge for the rock club.  I love the shape of the rock and how the animals fit so well.
