My rock paintings have run the gamut from quite large (I have painted an 85 lb river rock to look like a fawn) and now to quite small...these small flat rocks have been drilled and painted, to become rock jewelry (pendants) The ones above are animal prints and butterflies, the scan at the left shows an assortment of feather-rock pendants, mostly bluejay and owl feathers.

In NE Pennsylvania, there is a lot of fieldstone, and the settlers of this area learned to work with this: they constructed stone walls, unique and quite picturesque for the area. For the fallen walls, however, I have found a new painting surface! The hosta plants look quite realistic, especially in groups.
The Humane Society mailing labels for 2002 featured these adorable puppies in Christmas attire. A friend used this sticker on her holiday cards, I`m so glad she sent the sticker to me! Rock measures 6" across

This whitetail deer fawn is life-sized, about 14" long...it was sold to a lady whose mother loved deer, so her daughter bought it for her for use as a garden ornament.

Okay, so it`s NOT a rock painting, but an example of leaf-painting...this subject is a Polyphemus Moth, a type of silk moth found in North America...one of the foods of the larva of the moth is oak leaves, hence the painting of the adult on the leaf.
