In the SCA--Society for Creative Anachronism--I am known as Baroness Barbary Rose of Endless Hills. My favorite persona (I have many!) is that of an Elizabethan noblewoman in Queen Elizabeth`s court, circa 1585.
I joined the Society in 2004 after I had gone to a local Renaissance Faire and have been active ever since (I just love the costume of the time!) It was a time when the rich were rich and the poor were poor, the wealth of the nobility literally worn upon their backs in the form of rich fabrics, precious gems, and generally ostentatious dress (both men AND women!) In the SCA, all participants are considered to be minor nobility unless they choose to play otherwise.
My lord husband Gunnarr and I stepped up as the 5th Landed Baronage of Endless Hills in November of 2009.
The Barony of Endless Hills occupies most of Northeastern Pennsylvania, and happens on the border between East Kingdom and Aethelmearc.
