| After working with leather, which was difficult for a first-time glover, I decided to try something "easier", like linen gloves. Janet Arnold's Patterns of Fashion 4 book includes these linen gloves (photo below) with her notes about the construction and fabric direction. I reproduced her pattern (which I discovered wasn`t entirely accurate) and the embroidery, with help from a few friends and the curator of textiles at the V&A Museum in Great Britain (they sent me the photo below) My reproduction is the pair above. |
